The presence of genital herpes and genital warts is established by means of visual observation by the Doctor of either a herpetic blister or a wart.

If you would like a chaperone present during an intimate examination, please advise us before the consultation commences.

We can easily treat other non-sexually transmitted infections, such as Candidiasis (Thrush) and Bacterial Vaginosis.

Please note that some STIs do not cause symptoms.

HPV stands for ‘human papillomavirus’, which is a group of more than 100 viruses.  HPV is very common – most people will be infected with a form of HPV in their lifetime. HPV infection is most common in people in their late teens and early 20s. You can catch HPV by being sexually active with another person who already has the virus.

Most HPV infections do not need treatment because your body can clear the virus itself. But in some people, the HPV infection can develop into cancer or genital warts.

You may wish to condiser getting vaccinated against the HPV – you will need 3 injections (0,2,6 months) costing is €230 per injection.
